💸 Smart Travel Tips, Gear I Love, and a Must-Read Book Recommendation
Week 2: A Weekly 3-Minute Read to Help You Travel More (Without the Money Stress)
Hey, financially savvy travelers!
New York City is absolutely gorgeous this time of year! ☀️🌸🌷
While attending WITS (Women in Travel Summit), I spent last weekend exploring Downtown New York City, and I am obsessed.
I often visit Midtown Manhattan or the Upper East Side because it’s convenient and familiar. However, exploring a new neighborhood is soooo refreshing!
I appreciated Downtown’s architecture, history, and art exhibits, as well as the bagels and cream cheese (yummy!). 🥯
There are also lots of green spaces and the shimmering Hudson River views are breathtaking anytime of day.

And while Downtown is still a tourist hotspot, it’s surprisingly quiet on the weekends.
I have a Downtown NYC 3-day itinerary and detailed cost breakdown coming to the blog very soon, so stay tuned.
Here’s what’s new for this week in travel.
1. Save Smarter
JetBlue recently announced a new and improved partnership with Icelandair, allowing you to redeem JetBlue TrueBlue points on Icelandair flights. 🇮🇸
If Iceland is on your travel wish list or you have upcoming trips to Europe, Greenland, or the Faroe Islands, you can now book an Icelandair flight directly with JetBlue TrueBlue points.
Here's a bonus tip: Icelandair offers FREE stopovers to Iceland on any trans-Atlantic flight for up to seven days! This is a great way to add an extra destination to your trip without any additional cost.
The Catch: At this time, JetBlue doesn’t allow stopovers on award tickets.
💡Partnerships are one of the easiest ways to earn points and miles without having to travel or use a credit card.
For example, did you know that Starbucks and Delta have a partnership, as well as Airbnb and Delta? I break it all down in this podcast episode.

2. Travel Gear of The Week
I've had many backpacks over the years, and this one is my favorite.
From business to family vacations, Knack Bags is an all-in-one travel backpack that comfortably fits your laptop and weekender essentials.

Use the “slim mode” for daily use or expand the hidden suitcase compartment to easily fit 2-3 outfits and a pair of shoes.
Pack it like you would a suitcase.
There’s no need to continue researching dozens of backpacks or making a complicated spreadsheet comparing prices or features.

3. Money Book of the Week
Rachel Rodgers, the author of “We Should All Be Millionaires,” just released a new book about building wealth for young people.
Speaking directly to marginalized groups, Rachel shares how to think like a millionaire—creating a healthy money mindset, boundaries, and goals—and how to act like one, too.
Grab a copy for yourself, your kids, and friends.
